doxxing

Posting someone's private information online without their consent, like their real name, address, school or phone number. Kids also say "I'll dox you" as a threat.

Someone in the server threatened to dox him.

For parents and educators

Even said as a joke, it is a threat. Canadian experts say teens dox classmates and teachers, and it can bring criminal charges. Remind your child to keep their address, school and full name off public profiles.

If you’re worried

If your child has been doxxed or threatened, take screenshots, report and block the account, and contact local police if there is any threat to safety. Kids Help Phone: 1-800-668-6868 or text 686868.
