alt account
A second account, separate from your "main", often for a hobby, a game or close friends.
I post my drawings on my alt, not my main.
For parents and educators
Usually harmless. Having one is less important than knowing who they talk to on it.
Where it came from
Short for "alternate", from gaming and fan communities.
