An idiot, or someone gullible who gets fooled easily. Also an adjective: 'c'est cave' means 'that's dumb'.
J'ai été cave, j'ai cru à son poisson d'avril. (I was dumb, I fell for his April Fools' joke.)
For parents and educators
Often aimed at yourself. Like any insult, watch for it being used over and over on the same person.
