A long-standing code for cannabis, and April 20 is an informal cannabis day.
For parents and educators
Very well known, including among adults, so seeing it is often just a joke or meme. Treat it as a chance to ask what your child knows about cannabis rather than as proof of use.
Where it came from
Dates back to the 1970s and still appears in parent guides.
