respawn
Coming back to life in a game after being knocked out. To spawn is to appear in the game. Kids also say it jokingly about real life.
Hold on, I'm respawning, cover me.
For parents and educators
Pure gaming vocabulary. Some younger kids learn about death through games, so if a little one says something like 'he'll respawn' about a real loss, it is a gentle chance to explain the difference.
Where it came from
Video game term, now common across almost every kind of game.
