modded lobby
An online match that someone has tampered with, often offered as a shortcut to unlock ranks, items or money in games like Call of Duty or GTA Online.
A guy in my DMs says he can get me into a modded lobby for 2K.
For parents and educators
Joining or paying for one breaks the game's rules and can get an account banned or wiped. Some are run by people who sell fake access, or who use them to damage or take over other players' accounts.
If you’re worried
If your child paid someone or shared login details, change the password, turn on two-step verification and report the seller to the game or console maker. Report fraud to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
Where it came from
Gaming slang from the console shooter scene of the 2010s.
Also heard as
