mod
Two meanings. A moderator who keeps a chat, stream or Discord server in order. Or a fan-made change to a game, like a Minecraft mod.
Can the mods ban this guy? He keeps spamming.
For parents and educators
Being made a mod in a friend's server is a small honour kids enjoy. Downloading mods is usually fine from well-known sites, but random files can carry malware.
Where it came from
Short for moderator and for modification. Both are old internet terms.
Also heard as
mods, modded, modding, mod me
