être game

To be up for something, or brave enough to do it. 'Chu game' means 'I'm in'. 'T'es pas game' is a classic way to challenge someone.

On va glisser après l'école, t'es-tu game? (We're going sledding after school, you in?)

For parents and educators

Usually just means 'are you in?'. It's also the phrase behind schoolyard challenges, including risky online ones.

If you’re worried

If your child mentions being pushed to do something risky because they 'weren't game', talk about how saying no is the brave move. Kids Help Phone: 1-800-668-6868 or text 686868.
